Electrocardiogram

The electrocardiogram

The ECG is a tracing that reflects the electrical activity of the heart. It is a simple, quick and harmless test carried out using an electrocardiograph equipped with 10 electrodes that are placed on the skin during the recording. It is generally performed during the cardiology consultation. It requires analysis work by the cardiologist and is essential for many cardiological diagnoses.

    Main indications:

  • Resting chest pain
  • Palpitations and arrhythmias
  • Screening for various heart diseases
  • Discomfort and loss of consciousness
  • Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
